Description

"They are proud and willful, but they are true-hearted, generous in thought and deed; bold but not cruel; wise but unlearned, writing no books but singing many songs." ~ J.R.R.Tolkien

The Rohirrim were a horse people of the land of Rohan, which was named after them. Physically, they were a tall, blonde, and mostly blue eyed people. They were fiercely independent and conservative, remaining within their own language and culture. Horses were very important in their everyday lives with their entire culture being based around them. The Mearas – a race of noble horses – were only ridden by the Kings of Rohan. Éowyn was a noblewoman and shieldmaiden of Rohan, younger sister of Éomer and niece of King Théoden. She won great renown in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields by slaying the Witch-King of Angmar. Later Eowyn met Faramir, the Steward of Gondor, and fell in love with him. The two married and settled in Ithilien after the War of the Ring.

These earrings focus on Rohirrim's greatest asset – the horses. The light violet cube bead is a symbol of the hours before the sun rises; of the cool spring days; of the eyes of the Eorlingas. They also remind of Eowyn's favorite blue-gem necklace.

Earrings measure 4.5 cm or 2 inches in length. Elements include metalwork horse tokens, blue violet glass cubes, leverback clasps. Please note that these earrings are made purposely heavy, for more intensity. Colors and textures may slightly vary from seen in pictures.
